Holiday Cheer Spreads into the New Year for Residents of The Watermark
Fairfield, Conn. (December 29, 2006) – Residents and guests of The Watermark at 3030 Park collected non-perishable foods for St. Luke’s over the holidays. Approximately 300 pounds of food was delivered this morning to Reverend Jose Diaz by resident services director Ann Marie Fakete. When Fakete thanked Reverend Diaz for the fine work he and his church were doing for the community’s needy, Reverend Diaz replied “I thank you, you are angels that God sends to us to help us continue our work.”

Next week, on January 4th, 29 Watermark residents will accompany their pen pals from Curiale Elementary School in Bridgeport to see Disney on Ice at Harbor Yard. Harbor Yard donated the tickets to the fourth grade schoolchildren and is also making it possible for them to meet the Disney characters and go ice skating after the 10:30 a.m. show.

“This is a wonderful thing that Harbor Yard is doing,” said Marlane Argianas, a community life assistant who has been with The Watermark for eight years. “Our residents correspond with these children throughout the school year. It will be great for all of them to share this special occasion.”

The Watermark at 3030 Park, which is home to some 200 seniors, is located at 3030 Park Avenue on the Fairfield town line.  According to Argianas, the community also hosts an annual party for the Curiale Fourth Graders and their resident pen pals once a year, where they enjoy each other’s company over lunch and a magic show.

On January 24, The Watermark at 3030 Park will host “Healthy Start 2007,” a day of workshops designed to help participants make good on their New Year’s resolutions. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., workshops will be offered on: Nutrition, Fitness, Travel, Relaxation and Smoking Cessation. Guests are welcome with advanced reservations.
